Goodbye to 6th Class

Green Schools
Our Green Schools Committee is helping our school to recycle and raise money at the same time! We are collecting empty, undamaged bottles and cans and returning them to local vending machines through the Deposit Return Scheme. The money we receive from the deposits is used to support school activities and environmental projects. Thank you to all of the pupils and parents for their continued support of this initiative. Walking Club
Our Walking Club meets twice a week and encourages pupils to stay active while enjoying the outdoors. The club promotes health, fitness and wellbeing and provides a valuable alternative for children who do not take part in football games during break times. Autism Classroom School Tour
Ms.Foley’s, Ms.Gallagher’s and Mrs.Gavin’s room enjoyed their school tour out in Mayo Leisure Point. They had a lovely time all together in Nokey’s soft play area and then spent time in the bowling. School Tours
Junior and Senior Infants had a great day on the school tour in Belleek Woods with @tonnta_adventure. They did den building, rope walking, rope ladders, hammocks, stone painting and toasted marshmallows over a camp fire. The rainy weather did not dampen the spirits and they had such an enjoyable day. Darts Fun!
The excitement was building in our school this week as our school darts tournament reached its’ final stages! Over 64 pupils and teachers have taken part in the competition over the past number of weeks, showcasing fantastic skill and sportsmanship. Search and Rescue
Thank you to Johnathan Martin (Ellie’s dad) and his Colleagues from @rivermoysearchandrescue who visited our school last week and talked to the school about the important work they do each day. They showed the students their equipment and gear they use and spoke about what each piece was used for. What a Super Year for Our Boys Team
The boys’ Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic team have done themselves, their families and the school community extremely proud this year with a fantastic competition, full of teamwork and resilience. Boston Scientific Visit
Aoife Keane visited from Boston Scientific @bostonsci and facilitating a day with our 5th and 6th classes last week. They got to learn all about Boston Scientific, jobs in the facility and explore their medical equipment. A great opportunity to promote stem in our school.

Yum! Yum!

Sixth Class History Projects

Tour of Leinster House
6th Class and some of our staff were welcomed into Leinster House by Dara Calleary TD. Their original tour date was postponed at the very last minute in December and they were so thrilled to get the chance to make the journey and tour Leinster House keeping alive a tradition of visiting Dara there every year since he was elected to Dàil Èireann in 2007!

Our Cash 4 Clothes collection was a success and was taken away to be sorted and weighed! We will hear back from the company in 2 weeks with the amount we raised! Multi-Sensory Workshop
Some of our children from our Autism Classes attended a multi-sensory theatre experience recently. Heather Rose a local theatre producer and theatre artist Ben Lucent created a wonderful "Teddy Play, interactive experience."
